Rover 3 Litre MK 11 Saloon

The Rover was supplied New on the 6th of May 1966 by Linington Bros Ltd of Portsmouth,they were Rover,Landrover and Singer Distributors.The customer ( Mr Balaam ) had previousley ordered his New Rover,a staunch supporter of the brand ,when the New car arrived at the Distributor he could not wait to view it.However upon inspection the New Rover had several defects that Mr Balaam has very unhappy about,the car was rejected.Frantic telephone calls made to the Rover Factory in Solihull resulted in a personal invitation by the Directors of Rover to come to Solihull and choose a " New " Rover from the production line,this is the motor car that he chose.Finished in Slate Blue with Pale Grey hide,Radiomobile Radio and to quote the original bill of sale " Lyback individual Seats ".The Rover has a Manual Gearbox with Electric Over-drive and Power Steering.We have the original Green Log book,Green continuation log book and a later style DVLA Blue registration document.We also have a Shell Oils lubrication record book dated the 16th of March 1955,this record clearly shows that Mr Balaam owned a Riley at this time,on the 28th of April 1956 a Rover was purchased which remained with Mr Ballam untill the arrival of the 3 litre in 1966.The Rover was registered to Mr Balaams company,The Utility Tool and Production Co Ltd,Havant,Hants,when Mr Balaam closed the Company in 1975,the Rover was then registered to him at his private address.From the 1st of April 1975,when the Rover had covered 10,507 miles,a daily hand written journal was kept by Mr Balaam.A trip to France took the milage to 12,050 miles by the 9th of April 1975,from then onwards the Rover was to be used very sparingly,in fact,over the last 34 years the car has covered 7,000 miles.The Rover is the finest example you are ever likely to come across,the condition is second to none,never restored,an absolute jem.Having spent several hours reading about the cars history and documentation,any question you may have can now be answered.Included in the sale are the following items.Original Tool kit (complete)  Original Green Log book,Continuation green log book,DVLA registration document,Rover seat belt fitting instructions,Rover Cars optional equipment booklet,Rover Distributors and Dealer book, Shell lubrication records,Radiomobile Radio operating instructions,Rover 3 Litre literature pack,Radiomobile guarantee card,Rover cars maintenance book,Rover clearex windscreen cleaner,Radiomobile installation instruction book,Original Bill of Sale,Previous MOT,s and tax discs,Hand written journal,Rover owners instruction manual and a new and unused Rover P5 owners club sticker.The Rover is a potential concours car without doubt,come and see it,you wont be dissapointed.
