Mini Cooper S MK 3.

The Cooper S was first registed on the 14th of April 1971 ( JHC919J ) ,a huge and interesting  history file accompanys the Mini, documents date back to the 21st of February 1973.This was in the form of a letter from Swanmore Garage of Bournemouth ( Swanmore Garage had a advertising slogan, " Best used cars available in the South ",the letter reads, " It is now something over a year since we had pleasure in supplying you with your 1971 Morris Mini Cooper S." The Mini has been professionaly repaired and maintained by some of the finest Mini specialists known.During December 1977 the Mini was purchased by a gentleman from the Isle of Man and was registered there in February 1978 ( EMN478J ) it was later registered ( UMN75 ) and  ( MAN877J ) and when the car returned to the UK in 2004 it was registered ( JYY531J ) .During the Minis time on the Isle of Man the chossen Garages were always top quality,Mylchreests of Douglas ( Mylchreests specialised in BMC and Jaguar ) the history file contains many invoices from them.Athol Garage also based in Douglas established in 1945 also had a hand in looking after the car.Beck Motors of Sulby, ( Beck Motors were Paint and Bodywork Specialists ) they looked after the car in perfect detail, invoices for repairs, undersealing, waxing the paintwork are included.Des Evans Motors also based in Douglas also had a hand in the Minis care ( Des Evans Motors was formed in 1960 when Des had entered the TT Race that year ) the Business was run by Des and his Wife for almost 40 years, they retired in 2008.In 1981 the Mini had a full engine rebuild,no expense spared here either, the Engine was removed and dispatched to Top UK Mini specialists Minisport of Padiham ( Minisport still trade today as Top Specialists ) all  the supporting invoices are within the cars file. When the Mini returned to the UK in 2004 it was collected by famed Mini Specialists Wood and Pickett of Surrey, this is what they had to say of the Mini." The car was built in April 1971,but the V5 states the car was 1st registered in England in September 2004,this is because it was imported back by us at that time. There are many invoices for work carried out on this "S" principlely for a complete bare body restoration in 1985 and an invoice from Minisport for an engine restoration in 1981.This is an absolutely delightful genuine MK3 Cooper S,having collected it from the Isle of Man in June 2004,we drove the car back when it ran faultlessly all the way ".Preparation by Wood and Pickett at this time included the fitting of many new parts, the invoice is with the history file, total £1193.85.More recent work by Wood and Pickett include a Service and Professional detailing of the Engine and Engine Bay.The Cooper S is now presented by me in stunning " Show " condition,it realy has the " Wow " factor.Once a sale has been concluded the Mini will be serviced and freshly Mot,d.The next owner will be thrilled with this car,MK 3,s are still great value compared to the MK1,s which are now selling in the regon of £35000.Remember,there were only 1500 MK3,s built between March 1970 and June of 1971.
