Rover P5B Saloon Automatic

The Rover was supplied new by Rover Distributors, Grose Westonia Ltd of Wellingborough Road, Weston flavell, Northampton on the 3rd of January 1972 to the Piano Forte Company based in Northampton for the sole use of the Company chairman Sir Cyril Cripps. Ordered new in Silver Birch with Deep Mulberry Hide and contrasting Pale Grey Wilton Carpets, the combination has stood the test of time and still looks crisp, sitting on the correct Factory Chrome Roystle Wheels with narrow band White Wall Tyres. Through the Rovers lifetime the car has been cherished by its owners with a wonderfull history file and evidence of expenditure in the last decade totalling over £15,000. The Rover was sold by the Piano Forte Company the car had covered just 12,166 miles, this is confirmed by a letter from the Company Secretary. When the Rover changed hands in June 1992 the car had covered 20,800 miles, the total milage now stands at 29,972, confirmed in the history file. In the Rover history file is the original application form to join the Rover Owners Association ( Formed by owners and run by owners ) the approach of the Association was that " A Rover owner is no ordinary motorist, his approach to motoring is considered and selective,he is man who wants something better,he is a Connoisseur ".Perhaps this is why Sir Cyril preferred his Rover to one of several other cars in his custody including a Bentley. The Rover was the subject of a professional body work restoration which was completed in December 2003, a photographic record accompanys the car and an invoice recipted for £11115.93. The Rover was dismantled to a bare body shell and treated to a repaint, at this time the car also had a full body cavity rust proof and underbody wax oil. At 24,899 miles there are invoices for an engine de-coke, major service and thourough service to the gearbox assembly including the band adjustment. In the history file you will also find MOT,s, previous tax discs and registration documents spanning four decades. There is also the original Britax manila envolope containing Britax instruction leaflet, dash board sticker and a thankfully unused accident enquiry form. The Rover also retains its original spare keys, it is also fitted with a stainless steel exhaust system. The Rover also qualifys for free historic road tax, not to be missed, sure to please.
