Ford Mercury Comet Caliente.

The Caliente has a fantastic known history from new and is presented in stunning original condition, save for the new White Wall Tyres. The previous owner  purchased the Caliente some 24 years ago and has informed me of the cars history. The Caliente was the Paris Motor Show car and was purchased at the Motor show by Mr D G Pugh, when he retired in 1967 the car was imported  to Great Britain  and it was registered by Pembrokeshire County Council on the 24th of April that year ( the original green log book confirms this ) .The Caliente was maintained by Mr Griffiths of Heywood Garage in Tenby and in Mr Pugh,s later years Mr Griffiths used to chauffeur him on little local trips.Subsequently Mr Pugh bequeathed the Caliente to Mr Griffiths from whom the previous owner purchased the car in 1987.The car continued to enjoy very gentle usage and was always garaged. The total genuine milage stands at just 16,951 miles ( recorded in kilometers ) .The Caliente is finished in Metallic Pearl Grey with Metallic Turquoise Seats. The "Caliente" is so called as it was the Top of the Range model. The car has the powerglide Automatic transmission coupled to the super smooth 6 cylinder engine.A fantastic " Show " car which would also be perfect as a Wedding Car.Included in the sale are  some original manuals,Showroom brouchures, previous MOT,s,Green log book and Blue V5.The Caliente is pictured on its original " French " number plate but is of course UK registered with free historic road tax. This is a once in a life time chance to own a proper genuine American Car without paying  premium prices asked by American car importers.
