Riley 100 HP 2.5 Litre Sports Saloon.
The Riley was originally supplied by J.James ( London ) Ltd, Sole London Riley Distributors on the 1st of January 1951 to a Doctor W.Loftus Dale, the original Buff log book and Tax disc holder confirm this. Having another Doctor owner some 4 years later the Riley passed through several owners up until the 6th of April 1986 when a Mr Brian Jones purchased the car. One early repair invoice to Mr Jones was sent care of Barclays Bank, Uppingham, Rutland. In the early 90s " Jones the Bank " embarked on a major professional restoration, spending in excess of £10000, invoices present. To be found in the original Riley Hand book it is recorded that a Radiomobile RM 100 Radio was purchased on the 9th of January 1951. During " Jones the Banks " ownership this Radio was refurbished by Vintage Radio Services of Bristol, the Radio is included in the sale. The last owner purchased the Riley in July 1998 and has maintained the car to an excellent standard, covering just 12,000 careful miles during his ownership. Today the Riley looks just right, drives superbly, the Jet Black paint set off by very nice Chrome work. The interior is equally impressive, original Leather with age related cracks and scuffs, but so pleasing to the eye. Beautiful Wood Facia with crystal clear Jaeger instruments and Wooden door cappings. Also included in the sale is the original distinctive number plate issued to the Riley in 1951, the original " Hills " number plate is also present. Just arrived the Riley is currently being prepared for sale.
